FAIR HARVEST
ABOUT US
Fair Harvest started in 2018 with one observation: the South Coast grows plenty of food, and the families who need it most never see it. The farms had the produce. Families a few miles away couldn't afford it.
Our flagship program, Farm to Family, closes that gap. Each household gets a $350 Harvest Card, and we buy the food at full retail price from local growers and food producers. Never surplus, never seconds. Our farm partner is Elliot Farm in Lakeville — a produce farm and a food hub. Alongside what it grows, its store carries food from about 20 other Massachusetts growers and producers: produce, dairy, meat, fish, bread and pantry staples, so a family can shop every food group in one stop. Families spend the Harvest Card there, on the same shelves, in the same line, at the same prices as every other customer. Nobody asks them to explain why they're there.
The same dollar does two jobs: it feeds a household, and it puts real growing-season income into small Massachusetts farms.

In 2026, 685 households applied for 255 farm shares in a single week. Half of those applications arrived in the first 24 hours.

The Greater Boston Food Bank puts food insecurity at 48% of adults in Bristol County. The food is grown right here. Families just can't afford it.

The 255 families we did serve had a median income of $18,000. They included 314 children.
